The Horror of Rejection!!!!

It was beautiful morning; all of us were energetic and happy because we enjoyed having fun in the process of making the multimedia CD. As usual, all of us went to the multimedia authoring tutorial class on this day and learned more about the usage of the software. Suddenly, the tutor came to us and said " I am sorry…. Can you please change your approach towards this topic?"

She said that the topic "Tourist Attraction in Putrajaya" is not related to the Malaysian culture and lifestyle despite earlier the last two weeks ago she had completely agreed about our chosen topic. All of us were shocked to the spine because we had already started our work like 30% or so and now we have to redo it??!!!

Of course the tutor was very helpful and kind enough to understand our problem, so she advised and gave a few suggestions to approach the topic in a different manner but persevering the concept. Of course this wasn’t a very good idea so we decided to purpose a new topic.

After several meetings and discussion on the very same day, various weird and interesting proposals had been discussed among us, yet it wasn’t really good enough to challenge the other group's topic. It was a very hard and stressful for us during that moment.

In conclusion we had all agreed upon abandoning the "Putrajaya Project" for the multimedia authoring project but we had also decided to continue this work as our personal project for the benefit of ourselves and also for those who wish to know more about the beautiful garden city, Putrajaya.

The Journey Has Begun

Today, we rented a car and begin our project of photo capturing about the tourist attraction places in Putrajaya. We went around almost whole of Putrajaya and sometimes ended lost. Our 1st stop was at the Putrajaya Convention Centre.

At 1st the weather was very cloudy and it rained, later on at night the weather had improved a bit and was quite beautiful especially after the rain. Our next stop was Alamanda (The shopping centre of Putrajaya).

We captured some photographs while waiting for the night to come. Then we went to some of the most famous bridges around Putrajaya to capture some breath taking photographs of the "Night of Putrajaya". After that we decided to call it a day and went back home to sleep as it is already late at night and all of us had classes the next day.

The Project Begins

Today, Jerry and Jaswant went to Ehsan's house for a meeting. We brought some images and a list of the tourist attraction places in Putrajaya to discuss with Ehsan. We also had prepared something for the web blog and posted it in Hubpages.com. We discussed about which places to go in Putrajaya and planed our journey. We had also discussed about the progress of the Putrajaya map that Ehsan had did with Macromedia Freehand and fortunately its 90% completed.

Today we discussed about the contents of our multimedia CD. we divided the multimedia CD in seven sections which are:

1- Main Page
2- Map
3- List
4- Information
5- Interactive questions
6- Movie
7- About us

- Main Page:
we are going to design the main page after we make other sections.

- Map:
We decided to draw the map of Putrajaya and show the important places on the map. When users click on a place in the map they can see the information and also photos of that place. The benefit is tourists can find places on the map and make a schedule and visit all of them. If they want to use their own car they can find their destination by using the map and following the roads.

- List:
we want to make a list of places and categorize them with a small photo of that place. The advantage of this section is if a user only knows the name of a place and wants to get information about it. The user can easily search in the list section and by click on the name of place can get information. Because data are sorted in this section users can go inside a title and get information about that specific section. For instance if a person wants to get information about bridges in Putrajaya he/she can goes under the title "bridges" and see all of the bridges in Putrajaya in that section.

-Information:
we are going to put photos and texts about each place in one page in this section.

- Interactive Question:
is the entertainment part of this CD. We are going to ask some useful and important questions about Putrajaya in this section. People can improve their knowledge about Putrajaya by using this section.

- Movie:
we decided to have some movie in this section. And also we want to make movie by using photos of Putrajaya and background music. It is useful for the people who can not go to Putrajaya at least they can have a virtual tour to this place. Or maybe the movie section can persuade someone to come and visit.

- About us:
we want to make some information about ourselves in this section.

Today, we wanted to choose a topic. Everyone suggested one topic and we discussed about them.

Jerry: "Malaysian food"
- Easy to find resources.
- Introduce Malaysian food.
- Malaysia has many types of food.
- We can compare prices.
- Since all everybody like to eat, we have too many audiences.

Jaswant: "Malaysian wedding"
At first he showed us a video about wedding in Chinese style. Then he talked about the reasons that he had selected this topic and what we can show in our multimedia CD.
- Prepare for wedding.
- Food in wedding.
- Introduce different ceremony for different races.
- Cost of wedding.
- Procedures.
- Do and don't.

Ehsan: "Tourist attraction in Putrajaya"
After discussion we selected the third topic which is Tourist attraction in Putrajaya. We are going to talk about the reasons of choosing this topic in the proposal.

Why this topic is chosen?
One of Malaysia's source of economy is tourism. Based on some research Malaysia has earned $5 B in 2003 at tourism. Therefore this topic can be very useful and has many audiences.

Introduction

Aiming Real Technology (ART) is a group of students from Multimedia University (MMU) in Malaysia. We are going to create a Multimedia CD. We decided to show tourist attraction places in Putrajaya, a garden city in Malaysia. We want to add the contents of our discussion in this blog to share our experience with others and also using the point of view of the blog viewers to improve our work. Thanks alot in advance.
