Starting to Create Multimedia CD

Today, Jaswant & Jerry gathered at Ehsan's house to continue creating the multimedia CD. We Covert the photoshop images into director and started to use some scripts on our buttons. Very tiring... ;)

Animation Time..

All of us were very busy with creating an animation individually. The animation is an introduction for the multimedia CD. After we all had done it, we submitted them to our lecturer. Later on, we all had decided to use Ehsan's animation for our introduction as it is very creative and nice.

Renew Web Blog and Proposal

Date: 24/11/2006
Time: 16.00
Venue: Ehsan's Home.

Today, Jaswant and Jerry went to Ehsan's home to prepare our new proposal and also to do some final discussion. We realize that our previous web blog Hubpages.com is not user friendly and occasionally the server traffic is slow. It also doesn’t support the function of adding photos inside the document. Therefore we decided to move over to a new web blog host that is blogspot. We rewrite our blogs and update it to the latest one and here is our proposal:

Title:

A Sip from Heaven

Background:

Tea is a very interesting and unique type of beverage that had existed since the ancient days in China. Many people had been practicing drinking tea as part of their lifestyle and also culture especially in the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans society. In this modern era where technologies are growing rapidly, this culture is only being practiced by the older generation and it's almost forgotten among the younger generation. Nowadays, people are suffering under stress and fatigue resort to the usage of drugs, painkillers, and alcohol which are hazardous to the mind, body and soul. Drinking tea can also be an alternate way to relief one from those symptoms mentioned above. We had chosen this topic because we want to educate and to promote the modern people about the benefits of drinking tea and also preventing this beautiful culture from being lost forever.

Target Audience:
Average 20-50years old and above.

Characteristic:

Have no knowledge about tea, curious about tea, like Chinese culture.

Scope for the content:
i) History
- introduction
- history
- origin
- how it reach Malaysia
- Explain about the relationship between tea and culture and lifestyle in Malaysia
- Where can we get tea, where is it planted?

ii) Benefit for Health
- Types of Tea
i. Red
ii. Black
iii. Yellow
iv. White
v. Green

- Legend, Benefit and Types.

iii) Rules
- Rules of drinking tea
- Procedure to make a tea
- Tea set (Usage, type of tea set.)

iv) Interview
- An interview with a tea master.

v) Interactive Question
- To improve the audience's knowledge about tea.

vi) About us
- Regarding the authors

Objective

- We will create a very interesting and unique introduction for the multimedia CD.
- We want to improve the knowledge of the audience in an interesting way.
- We will include various Chinese painting images that are related to tea.
- We want to make sure that our user audience feels comfortable when exploring the multimedia CD.

Strategy Approach:

- We will have an introduction animation.
- We will create an interactive question for the audience to explore.
- We will do research about the design and symbols that are related to tea so that we can use it as part of the GUI.
- We will create a user friendly graphic user interface (GUI) that is suitable for all ages.

Project Genre/Category:

- Education & Information Multimedia CD.

Team members’ roles

· Since this work is a group work and we want to produce an excellent product, so we decided to do all the pages together. Each member will be bringing some sketches of each page and then we combined them into one. All of us will also be present at the same time in one place to create the multimedia CD page by page.
· If we were to separate the work individually, some members are able to finish the work on time while maybe the others were not able to do it, therefore it will bring negative effect by slowing down our progress.

· This group work will have some advantages such as:

o Every member will be satisfied with the outcome.
o We can share our experience together
o We can make sure everyone does their part equally
o The project work will be synchronize in terms of the GUI and design
o If there's a mistake, every member will be responsible for that page and not only a particular person.
o In this group work we have 3 minds instead of 1; therefore the product outcome will be better.
o We work as a team at the same time instead of individuality.
o We can prepare ourselves for the future in order to work as a team and believe in a concept "no man is an island"
o It’s a good opportunity to strengthen our bonds in working together in the future.
o We can learn together from our mistakes and improve ourselves together thus balancing the skill level individually.

Tea Party...

Date: 21/11/2006
Time: 21.00
Venue: Jaswant & Jerry's Home.

Earlier a couple of days ago, Ziv (The guy that gave us the idea) had brought his Chinese tea set and types of tea to demonstrate the process of making the tea and also to explain to us what tea was all about. Earlier in the afternoon, Ehsan had gone to Times Square in Kuala Lumpur to scout around and doing some research about tea. He managed to take some photos and talked with some of the tea shopkeepers.

At night time, Ehsan came to Jaswant and Jerry's house. Together we experience a wonderful educational journey and learned many interesting facts about tea from Ziv. We asked him a lot of questions and finally of course, we get to drink those teas. At first we weren't used to the bitterness of the tea, but slowly, as we drank more and more our tongue had finally managed to taste the sweetness of this wonderful drink.

Later on, we sat down together and discuss about the design of the multimedia CD and did some sketches and the flowchart. It was a wonderful night full of new experiences.

The Moment of Truth...

Date: 17/11/2006
Time: 12.00

We came up with our latest "Chinese Tea" proposal and went to consult the tutor after our Malaysian Studies class. She read it and fully agreed with it (We hope she wont change her mind again like last time, just joking ;p)

An Idea from Heaven....

Date: 16/11/2006
Time: 11.30

It happened on the very same day, it was lunch time and we were very frustrated and confused. Every member was thinking hard and was disappointed because we had to start all over again from 0%.

All of us went to the food court to have our lunch as our stomach was as sad as ourselves. It was very silent on the table and everybody was eating their food quietly. After eating, we sat down and pull ourselves back together and started brainstorming. Various suggestions and ideas came up such as Malaysian Wedding, Wayang Kulit, Malaysian food, Malaysian Villages and etc.

The group members were not agreeing towards on another and signs of conflict started to rise. The reason was most of the topic mentioned above was already done by other group and some were too hard in terms of finding the resources and information.

We try to find a way to maintain the Putrajaya topic and discussed various ways to relate it with Malaysian culture and lifestyle such as signs of Malaysian architecture present around Putrajaya. But it seems very uninteresting and boring because Putrajaya is a government administration city therefore there weren't any interesting cultural architecture besides tall skyscrapers. It seems there was no hope at all, we were all very disappointed and despair.

Suddenly, one of our friends came to our table and gave us a suggestion about doing a Chinese tea topic. It was like a miracle to us as this guy's family background is very traditional and he knows a lot about Chinese cultures and lifestyle. Here we discovered and understand the benefit of a group work. It was like heaven has shown its light upon us. We were very excited and the atmosphere had changed immediately. We quickly discuss about it and planed our next move.

Thank you Ziv Goh. You gave us hope ;)
